Core Offer +
Our Core Offer + is for schools that require a helping hand to support them back to their former strength, where there may have been a dip in effectiveness, or to help accelerate progress for those who’s effectiveness has been less than strong for some time.
Schools that tend to access our Core Offer + are those that meet one or more of the following criteria;
- Currently ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ but at risk of being downgraded at next Ofsted inspection
- Decline in pupil outcomes
- New leadership of the school
- Poor stakeholder survey outcomes
- Some weakness in curriculum
- While we outline certain criteria, we also recognise that context is incredibly important, and a holistic approach is taken when deciding school support.
- Those schools accessing Core Offer + gain all the elements in the core offer, plus additional support from various sources.
Our Offer Includes:
+3 Trust Lead Visits
Our trust leads are some of our most skilled practitioners across the trust.
With 3 additional trust lead visits across the academic year, there is the chance to build capacity quicker through them working with leaders in their specific areas, and providing robust quality assurance and recommendations to improve further.
+6 T&L Champion Visits
Our Teaching & Learning Champion visits do what they say on the tin. These half termly visits are used for our Champions to work with individual, or groups of teachers to enhance their practice in the classroom, based on their individual needs.
Whether it is team teaching, modelling lessons, or supporting with curriculum planning, they are there to support teachers in their T&L practice, using evidence-led approaches that have impact for pupils.
+2 Director of Education Visits
While our Director of Education will obviously visit the school for the Support & Development Days, and the School Improvement Initiative Reviews, our Core Offer + provides for 2 additional DoE days across the academic year, providing a deeper level of school-specific support.
The visits will always be focused on improving school effectiveness in line with the School Improvement Plan, and will also be an opportunity to validate the school SEF at additional points within the year.
Additional Funding Review
As schools we have a lot of additional funding and documentation that impacts progress of learners, e.g. Pupil Premium Strategy, Sports Premium etc.
What we want to ensure is that additional funding is being spent effectively and in line with guidance from EEF and other research-led organisations. Each school in the Core + offer will receive an additional funding review with recommendations to support their strategy for how additional funding should be spent to maximise pupil progress and attainment.
