We are delighted to announce that we are partnering with Ambition Institute to offer Primary Initial Teacher Training from September 2024. This course is open to anyone who is considering a career in primary education, whether you a fresh from university or want a career change.
About Ambition Institute:
We are a national education charity providing teacher training and professional development based on the most rigorous evidence about what really works. Together, we’re shaping the future of education to give every child the best start in life. To date, our teaching programmes have supported 54,000 teachers and school leaders from, 9,500 schools. Together, these schools reach nearly 4.3 million pupils.
The Course:
This 12-month long course (24 months can be considered for part-time), will allow graduates to obtain qualified teacher status (QTS) and a post graduate certificate in education (PGCE). Successful applicants will be placed in a school within our growing trust which spans across the East Midlands. You will be assigned to one main school where you will spend most of your training, and you will also be paired with an experienced teacher to support and mentor you through the training.
Our Teacher Training prioritises your relationship with the pupils you teach, and it allows you to do most of your training in one school. Our one-school training approach also gives you the opportunity to build relationships with teachers, staff and the wider school community. By the end of your training, you will have the confidence to teach in a classroom on your own.
