Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Barlestone C of E Primary School

Barlestone C of E is located at the heart of the village of Barlestone in the district of Hinckley and Bosworth. The school caters to 197 pupils aged 4 to 11. Barlestone has continued to improve over the last 6 years, which has been reflected in the Good grade awarded to the school by Ofsted.

Mission Statement:

“…and walk in love, just as Christ also loves us…” Ephesians 5:2

Our Values:

  • Friendship – Our School is a happy place where we want the best for everyone; no one will ever be left out.
  • Perseverance – We keep trying, with everything we do and believe, especially when it’s difficult because we want to succeed.
  • Trust – We believe in the people around us, we know how important it is to be a trustworthy member of our school community.
  • Respect – We treat others with politeness and value their lifestyles, beliefs and opinions. Everyone is unique and should have their voices heard.

These values are based on the theological virtues of Faith, Hope and Love:

  • Faith: As God is faithful to us, we try to act faithfully and believe in the people around us. We know how important it is to be a trustworthy member of our school community.
  • Hope: We have hope because Jesus loves us, so we always preserve, and keep trying with everything we do and believe, especially when it’s difficult because we want to succeed.
  • Love: God’s love for us is reflected in our values of Friendship and Respect. We want the best for everyone, and no one will ever be left out. We treat others with politeness and value their lifestyles, beliefs and opinions. Everyone is unique and should have their voices heard.

Ofsted 2019:

“Pupils are proud of the friendly, family atmosphere at this school. They say, ‘Our school is for everybody.’ Pupils feel safe. They respect their teachers and are keen to learn.”

Results:

The pupils writing progress scores continue to be well above the national average.  The school's results for the percentage of students meeting the expected standard have exceeded the progress of other schools in the area over the past 3 years.
