Belgrave St. Peter’s Primary School Praised in SIAMS report.
Wed 22 Nov 2023Belgrave St. Peter’s Primary School, Thurcaston Road, Leicester are proud to report that the school is ‘living up to its foundation as a Church school and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish’ after a recent Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) by the Church of England.
The school, which is part of Rise Multi Academy Trust, was described as having ‘real sense of Christian love’ which is ‘intrinsic in every aspect of school life’. A SIAMS inspection reviews how effective a church school is delivering a strong Christian ethos, to enable pupils and staff and the school community to thrive.
The school joined Rise in January 2022 and since then has made many positive changes, which were noted during the inspection ‘The MAT provides coaching and support giving clear direction to many staff at the start of their teaching career.’ The inspector also commented that leaders have created ‘a deep and meaningful culture’ where ‘everyone is treasured’, highlighting the importance of the ‘intensive support from Rise’.
Furthermore, Rise encourages schools to work collectively to build their community both within the church and wider area, which was noted as inspectors commented ‘links with other schools within the MAT enable pupils to experience life beyond their locality.
Mark Cole, CEO at Rise commented, ‘We are delighted with the SIAMS outcome. School leaders and staff have worked really hard to make the improvements that were seen by inspectors.’
Courtney Ouriach, Headteacher said ‘ Staff at Belgrave St. Peters are proud to share our SIAMS report with our school community. We found the entire inspection a positive experience and are proud that the inspector was able to see how we embody our vision and values day to day as a school family."

Over 4000 pupils and hundreds of staff from Rise Multi Academy Trust Schools will collectively travel 2575 miles.
Tue 21 Nov 2023All of the schools from the Rise MAT family will be taking part in the famous Rainbows Santa Run. Our aim is to complete the distance from Rainbows Loughborough Hospice in Loughborough, to Santa’s workshop in the North Pole to raise vital funds for this wonderful charity.
Last year 20 schools took part and raised an impressive £6,000! This year we will be 25 schools strong, as our pupils get into the festive spirit by dressing up and walking, skipping or running the 2575 miles around sports fields, school halls and play areas to cumulatively complete the distance it would take to reach Santa in his workshop.
As the famous Helen Keller once said “alone we can do so little, together we can do so much”. Which is why we know, by working together we can achieve this huge distance, whilst having fun and raising vital funds for Rainbows.
Mark Cole, CEO of Rise MAT, said: “Being a part of Rise MAT means having a commitment to the community and helping our children realise what we can all achieve if you work together. We want to provide our schools with the opportunity to work in collaboration with each other, and what better way to do so than with a fun filled Christmas themed fun run raising awareness and vital funds for an amazing charity”
The Santa Run is part of the Rise Pupil Charter, where every year group in our family of schools have the opportunity to take part in a trust event.
Rainbows support babies, children and young people with a life threatening / life limiting condition, along with their families, from across the East Midlands. Viscount Beaumont C of E Primary School maintains its ‘Good’ Ofsted rating with three ‘Outstanding’ features.
Fri 03 Nov 2023Staff at Viscount Beaumont are celebrating maintaining the school’s ‘Good’ Ofsted rating.
An Ofsted inspection at Viscount Beaumont C of E Primary School, of Ashby Road, Coleorton has judged that the school has successfully maintained its ‘Good’ rating, following a two-day inspection on 10th and 11th October 2023.
Inspectors found that Viscount Beaumont C of E Primary was a “small but mighty school that pupils are incredibly proud of” after the inspection at the start of the new school term. The inspectors also ranked behaviour and attitudes, personal development and early years provision as ‘Outstanding.’ Hayley Ryder-Smith, Head of School, said; ‘We are so proud that the report reflects the vision that we have for our pupils and staff to flourish and succeed.’
Inspectors recognised many strengths in the school including: ‘Pupils’ behaviour is exemplary,’ ‘They are highly courteous and well mannered’ ‘The school is well led and managed.’ and that ‘Pupils learn about the wide range of beliefs and cultures.’
Viscount Beaumont’s joined Rise multi-academy trust in June 2022. The school had had a visit from Ofsted inspectors in October 2019, when the school was in a different trust, and inspectors had several concerns that the school might not be good. Mark Cole, CEO at Rise, ‘We are delighted that inspectors came back to Viscount Beaumont and saw the strengths that we see. Staff and local governors have worked tirelessly to improve the school and we completely agree with the pupil quoted in the report who described the school as ‘small but mighty.’ We worked hard in the early months to assure parents that we would improve all facets of their school quickly and we are thrilled that Ofsted could see that.’
Jo Westaby, Executive Headteacher at Viscount Beaumont's C of E Primary School, said: ‘we are so pleased that Ofsted recognised the many strengths of our lovely school.’
