About Rise: We are a growing trust of 23 primary schools in the East Midlands. We put teacher development at the heart of everything we do, and strive for excellence within the classroom. We apply evidence-led approaches to ensure we are beacons of good practice in all our schools, from those who serve rural communities, to those in the inner city.
About Ambition Institute: We are a national education charity providing teacher training and professional development based on the most rigorous evidence about what really works. Together, we’re shaping the future of education to give every child the best start in life. To date, our teaching programmes have supported 54,000 teachers and school leaders from, 9,500 schools. Together, these schools reach nearly 4.3 million pupils.
The Course: This 12-month long course (24 months can be considered for part-time), will allow graduates to obtain qualified teacher status (QTS) and a post graduate certificate in education (PGCE). Successful applicants will be placed in a school within our growing trust which spans across the East Midlands. You will be assigned to one main school where you will spend most of your training, where you will also be paired with an experienced teacher to support and mentor you through the training.
Our Teacher Training prioritises your relationship with the pupils you teach, and it allows you to do most of your training in one school. Our one-school training approach also gives you the opportunity to build relationships with teachers, staff and the wider school community. By the end of your training, you will have the confidence to teach in a classroom on your own.
